Some seasons demand intensity. Others ask for grace.
In this week’s SpeakHer Podcast episode, titled “Soft Life,” I’m dialing it back—no expert guests, no panels, no noise. Just me, reflecting on what it means to truly lean into softness during this chapter of life.
As I sit with the term soft life, I realize it looks different through every lens. In this season, as a single woman, it’s about permission: permission to rest, to reflect, to redefine what success looks like when it comes from peace—not performance.
Softness isn’t complacency.
It’s clarity.
It’s alignment.
It’s real living in real-time.
In a culture that often celebrates constant hustle, late nights, and “grind until you make it,” the soft life can be misunderstood. People may mistake it for laziness, passivity, or even disengagement. But for me, in this season, soft living is a deliberate choice—a bold decision to prioritize peace over pressure and alignment over approval.
I’ve learned that softness is a strength. It takes courage to step back from chaos and give yourself permission to breathe. It’s about creating a rhythm that allows for both productivity and presence. It’s knowing when to go full speed and when to coast.
In this episode of The SpeakHer Podcast, I stripped it down—no guest, no heavy production—just me sharing my heart on what the soft life looks like right now. From the outside, it might seem like slowing down. But internally, it’s about moving with intention.
This season, my soft life is:
- Protecting my peace like it’s my most valuable asset
- Releasing the need to overexplain my decisions
- Making room for joy in the smallest moments
- Choosing people and spaces that feel safe and life-giving
The soft life isn’t a retreat—it’s a recalibration. It’s a way of making sure my life feels as good on the inside as it might look on the outside. And this episode? It’s my permission slip to you.
You have permission to live softly. To live deeply. To live in a way that honors your pace and your peace.
