SAFE SPACE: Stretching Into the Next Chapter

blog

This chapter of life feels both exciting and challenging. To be transparent, I am being stretched in ways I could never have imagined three years ago. The journey has not been easy—truthfully, it is still not easy. Yet, I’ve come to understand that the discomfort of stretching is often a sign of growth. The very places where I feel uncertain are the same spaces God is using to strengthen me.

Standing at the crossroads of fear and faith is not comfortable. Fear tells me to stay where I am, while faith whispers, “Next is calling.” And that’s the real question—will I answer the call, even when it costs me my comfort? Every step into the unknown requires trust, and trust means I don’t have to have all the answers before I move. Proverbs 3:5 reminds us, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.”

But this isn’t just my story—it’s yours too. Where are you experiencing the stretch right now? Where are the challenges pressing on your heart? For some, it may be career transitions; for others, relationships, finances, or spiritual growth. No matter what the stretch looks like, the truth is the same: growth requires honesty and courage.

When you sit with yourself, are you totally showing up—or just doing the bare minimum to keep your conscience clear? This is where transparency meets accountability. It’s not about perfection, but about choosing to engage fully in the season you’re in. Avoiding the stretch may bring temporary relief, but it will never lead to transformation.

So let’s unpack this together. The stretch is calling you higher. The challenge is shaping you for greater. And the next step? It’s waiting for your “yes.” Don’t let fear silence your purpose. Instead, lean into the stretch, trust the process, and embrace the truth that God’s strength is revealed most in the moments when we feel least qualified. This chapter may not be easy—but it will be worth it.
